The Summer Dues appeal contributes to the essential support of priests. The generosity that you show towards your priests is indispensable. The ministerial priesthood has come down to us in the Church from Jesus and the Apostles. Please encourage and pray for your priests in their ministry, and pray, too, for an increase in vocations to the priesthood. As Jesus says: 'The harvest is rich, but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send labourers to his harvest (Matthew 9:37). The Summer Dues appeal contributes to the essential support of priests.

Please play your part, too, in a renewed and active involvement of all the baptised as together we build a synodal Church, nourishing and supporting each other, led by the Holy Spirit and counting wonderful blessings of God in our Lives.
POPE LEO XIV has published the first encyclical letter (major teaching letter) of his Papacy (25 May 2026).
Magnifica humanitas was published on the 135th anniversary of the encyclical Rerum Novarum by Pope Leo XIII. Archbishop Dermot Farrell has issued a statement welcoming Pope Leo's letter Magnifica Humanitas, The Grandeur of Humanity.
"The letter is aimed at safeguarding humanity at a time of artificial intelligence. At its heart is an appeal to all people of goodwill to work together to ensure that Al is developed and used in ways that promote 'human flourishing' and help us build a better, more just world.
Copies of Pope Leo's encyclical letter are available in the parish shop for € 10 per copy. It is well worth reading carefully.
