MAY THEIR SOULS AND THE SOULS OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD REST IN PEACE.  AMEN.

Kindly note that once the list of intentions for the coming week as above has been posted to the Newsletter page on the Parish website (www.holyfamilyparish.ie) and printed off for the Priests’ use during the Masses, additions/adjustments to that week’s list cannot be easily and conveniently made after 11.30 a.m. Thursday of the week.

Covid-19 - Pandemic

From the last week in March 2020 due to the measures enforced by the public health authorities for the prevention of the spread of the Covid-19, all the public Masses were suspended and did not resume until 29th June 2020.  It was not possible to celebrate Mass to honour the intentions as arranged with parishioners and others for part of March, April, and May and for nearly all of June 2020.  Some of the intentions have been transferred to other days and times where they may be accommodated as is conveniently feasible.  Where it was not possible to contact anyone to confirm re-arrangement of a Mass intention, the intentions have been re-located to other dates available.  If you have a query about this, please contact the parish secretary at 01-2845299 or admin@holyfamilyparish.ie and she will be glad to help you.

Collections – Important Lodgement Notice from Finance – 23rd July 2020

The Peter’s Pence collection due to take place on 05/07/2020 in place of the Share collection is postponed to November 2020.

Church Collections

  1. Common Fund – Green Bucket (Priests)

This fund supports the priests in active ministry as well as the sick and the retired priests in the Dublin Diocese.  It is paid into the diocesan central account and then paid out in support of each individual priests according to his needs.  There is an envelope in black lettering for your donation.

  1. Share – Red Bucket (Diocese)

This fund was initially created to supplement the income of financially disadvantaged parishes but its application now supports the diocesan offices central administrative services.  There is an envelope in red letting for your donation.

  1. Voluntary Family Offering – Blue Bucket (Parish)

This income used to be called “envelope collections”, “weekly family offering”.  It used to be collected from parishioners’ homes by volunteer collectors weekly.   This fund supports the upkeep of the church, its services and pays the wages of the employees, the insurance, maintenance, utilities, grounds care, supplies etc.  These all depend on the generous support from parishioners without which this parish would not survive.  For example, the replacement of a side door/window in the church this year cost nearly €4000 from this fund as well as the installation of the webcam in the Church costing €3500 (approx.), both expenditures, representing a prudent management and wise use of your contributions.  Please continue to support your parish through the voluntary family offering.  The income/expenditure is monitored by the members of the Parish Advisory Finance Committee.

A new style of V.F.O. collection envelope has been introduced to, hopefully, curtail costs.  Please write your V.F.O number, if you know it, in the space provided in the top left-hand corner of the (new) envelope.  It is also known from the database at the office.

These envelopes will replace the small (green) envelopes for the Voluntary Family Offering from 1st July 2020.  You may collect these V.F.O. envelopes from the tables near the Church door and take them home with you in replacement of the former small envelopes.  These envelopes may be used in conjunction with the standing orders – Navy lettering on the envelopes.

The Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions has delayed the administration of the sacraments.

Confirmation – Provisional Dates

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred on young people presented from among former pupils of Holy Family National School, Kill National School, and Monkstown Educate Together National School.  The dates are provisional and subject to the norms of the Public Health Authority (NPHET).
