HOLY FAMILY PARISH - KILL-O-THE-GRANGE

Parish Mission Statement

Our Parish seeks to live as a family – supporting one another, open to all comers, building a community where each person feels wanted and cared for. To make this happen, we will work to grow in holiness through prayer and service and we will try to show God’s love in our daily lives.

COVID-19 / Coronavirus: visitation of the sick/ housebound in their homes/care -homes

  1. Mindful of the need for the protection of the housebound/sick parishioners in their own homes/ care-homes, it would be prudent for ministers of communion to observe the visiting restrictions that are now in place in hospitals and nursing homes nationwide in regard to housebound/ sick parishioners.
  2. The HSE advises that persons with pre-existing medical conditions are particularly vulnerable to cross-infection.
  3. Ministers of communion are therefore advised to suspend their visits to the sick/housebound until the danger from the COVID-19 epidemic is spent.
  4. These suggested restrictions are deemed to be in the best interests of the sick & housebound parishioners as well as of the communion ministers themselves.
  5. Ministers are requested to kindly advise those whom they visit of this measure.
  6. Parish clergy will remain available to visit the sick and the housebound in urgent circumstances.
  7. Sick persons need not attend Mass.

Your active co-operation in this pertinent matter of pastoral care will be appreciated I sincerely thank you all, for your patience and understanding during this time of the national difficulty presented by Covid19. [Sources:  Visitor Restrictions as announced by Nursing Homes Ireland on 6th March 2020 and instructions from the HSE issued through the Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin concerning the conduct of Religious activities in its churches/ guidance for when flu or an epidemic is circulating.]
