The Baptism of the Lord

HOLY FAMILY PARISH KILL-O-THE-GRANGE

Parish Mission Statement

Our Parish seeks to live as a family – supporting one another, open to all comers, building a community where each person feels wanted and cared for. To make this happen, we will work to grow in holiness through prayer and service and we will try to show God’s love in our daily lives.

AN INVITATION INTO ACTION

What’s all this “ecological conversion” that Pope Francis is calling on all of us to undergo? Well, it’s being prepared to open up to change in our lifestyle, towards a more sustainable, less consumerist way of living, thinking and acting. But where to start?  To help you, our Parish Environment Group is inviting you to give one hour every three months to come along to the Resource Centre to take part in an informal discussion, information and mutual support session beginning Wed 25 March at 7.30pm, to share practical ways of being more environmentally active and committed.  More information in future newsletters.  People from outside the parish very welcome also.

LORD BLESS OUR HOME

20 + Jesus + Mary + Joseph + 20

There is a custom in parts of Europe to bless homes as a new year begins.  Ask God to bless your home.

Lord Jesus, you said “Make

your home in me as I make mine in you

Lord, welcome to our hearts and to our home.

Lord, we thank you for our home.

Bless our house and keep us safe.

Bless each one in our family, so that we may create a happy home for one another.

Lord, bless the rooms where we relax and chat together.

Lord, bless our bedrooms.  Embrace us in your love and refresh us as we sleep.

We thank you for our kitchen and for our food.

We thank you Lord for water.  May we use what we need and never waste what we don’t need.

Lord, bless the outer doors and windows. Protect us from bad weather and from intruders.

Lord bless our garden with flowers to smile at us and birds to sing for us.

(Sprinkle the outer doors and rooms with holy water).

Let us pray, Our Father … Hail Mary …

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus,

Immaculate Heart of Mary,

We consecrate and entrust our family to you.

Protect us and grant us peace. Amen
