30 November / 1 December 2019 - First Sunday of Advent

Parish Mission Statement

Our Parish seeks to live as a family – supporting one another, open to all comers, building a community where each person feels wanted and cared for. To make this happen, we will work to grow in holiness through prayer and service and we will try to show God’s love in our daily lives.

At the FAMILY MASS on 15th December at 12 noon we will invite children to bring statues of the infant Jesus from the crib at home to be blessed during the Mass.

If you do not have a small statue, then bring a Christmas Candle to be blessed.

Nativity images are on sale in the church.

The December Collection for the St, Vincent de Paul will take place at all the Masses next weekend 7th /8th December 2019. With the kind permission of His Grace Archbishop Martin, the collection will replace the Share Collection at Mass.   Please give as generously as you can.

Your prayers are requested for the souls whose anniversary occurs about this time:

may their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. amen.

Making Christmas greener Is feidir linn - How? Do the simple things. The Parish Environment Group has listed 20 things you can do to make it a greener Christmas.  There is a free green sheet available at the back of our church, see how many items you can tick off.  Pope Francis has said, living our “ecological conversion” is not an optional or secondary aspect of our Christian experience (Laudato Si, 217)

Thanks to the volunteers who assisted in the packing and dispatch of Parish Christmas Cards and dues envelopes and to the SVP conference for the distribution.
