Parish Mission Statement

Our Parish seeks to live as a family – supporting one another, open to all comers, building a community where each person feels wanted and cared for. To make this happen, we will work to grow in holiness through prayer and service and we will try to show God’s love in our daily lives.

BT and The Irish Cancer Society

Matt Forde will collect household items, bric-a-brac, good quality clothes, unwanted presents, etc. for sale in Irish Cancer Society Shops in October.  Last year BT raised €186,000.00.  Bags are available THIS WEEKEND.  Please return them before 12 noon on Sunday next, 6th October.

WELCOME THE WORD – LECTIO DIVINA
Lectio Divina begins

  • By reading a passage from the gospels
  • Then reflecting on it quietly
  • Next sharing thoughts on what was said or happened years ago
  • Finally, praying for the grace to respond to what the Lord is saying to us now, personally and collectively.
  • Come, on Friday after 10 am Mass for about half an hour (unless there is a funeral)

REST IN PEACE

Your prayers are requested for the souls of

recently deceased and also for those whose anniversary occurs about this time:

MAY THEIR SOULS AND THE SOULS OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD REST IN PEACE.  AMEN.

New Pilgrim Path Website of the Week. Gerry Pierse (1940-1999) was a Redemptorist priest from County Kerry. During his missionary ministry in Asia, he became deeply involved in contemplative prayer - inspired by the teaching of Benedictine monk John Main. With a gift for words that made his teaching simple, clear, effective, and often humorous, Fr Pierse recorded a superb series of talks introducing Christian meditation.
