PRAYER BEFORE EXAMS

Lord, by the grace of the Holy Spirit help me to

  • Keep calm,
  • Read the questions carefully and answer them honestly,
  • Measure my time for each question,
  • Remember what I have learned,
  • Write legibly and
  • Express myself clearly

Lord, when I leave school, lead me to a new course which I will enjoy so that I may develop my talents for my own benefit and for the good of others, Amen

New Pilgrim Path is a website aimed at introducing parishioners to the great wealth of Christian resources on the Internet. It was inspired by Pope Francis’ enthusiasm for the Internet as offering immense possibilities for encounter and solidarity.  We provide links to, and a brief description of, a variety of websites. www.NewPilgrimPath.ie

Peace with nature, peace with each other

What has our new St. Francis garden got to do with justice and peace in the world?  A lot, in fact.  It reflects the growing realisation that, as the Pope notes, where nature is viewed solely as a source of profit and gain, this has serious consequences for society. “This vision of ‘might is right’ has engendered immense inequality, injustice and acts of violence against the majority of humanity, since resources end up in the hands of the first comer or the most powerful: the winner takes all.  Completely at odds with this model are the ideals of harmony, justice, fraternity and peace as proposed by Jesus” (Laudato Si, par. 82)
