HOLY FAMILY SCHOOL

Ms. Margaret Martyn has been appointed as the new Principal at Holy Family School in place of Mr. Niall Quinn who is taking up a new position in the west of Ireland. May God bless them both in the years ahead

PRAYER BEFORE EXAMS

Lord, by the grace of the Holy Spirit help me to

  • Keep calm,
  • Read the questions carefully and answer them honestly,
  • Measure my time for each question,
  • Remember what I have learned,
  • Write legibly and
  • Express myself clearly

Lord, when I leave school, lead me to a new course which I will enjoy so that I may develop my talents for my own benefit and for the good of others, Amen

New Pilgrim Path is a website aimed at introducing parishioners to the great wealth of Christian resources on the Internet. It was inspired by Pope Francis’ enthusiasm for the Internet as offering immense possibilities for encounter and solidarity.  We provide links to, and a brief description of, a variety of websites. www.NewPilgrimPath.ie

Our St. Francis Garden

Some parishioners may have wondered why a particular patch of grass just behind the bell tower of our church has been left uncut.  Mowing stopped before Easter to allow wildflower seeds to be broadcast and raked in.  While it will probably take two or three years to become self-sustaining, a range of blooms is already evident, and we hope more will follow.  This is a small contribution by our parish to increasing biodiversity and helping bees and other pollinators in the area.

As the Pope notes in his encyclical on the environment (par.12): “Francis asked that part of the friary garden always be left untouched, so that wild flowers and herbs could grow there, and those that saw them could raise their minds to God, the Creator of such beauty”.

All parishioners are welcome and encouraged to add more wild flowers by sowing and planting them in our “St Francis Garden”.
