Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes (3–8 September 2026)
Our annual Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from 3 to 8 September 2026. Please consider contributing to our special collection after Mass this weekend, or by using the donation envelopes available at the back of the church. Your generosity directly funds the medical care and transport needed to bring comfort and hope to those most in need. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
Parish Resource Centre Notice
The Parish Resource Centre will be closed for the month of August. Please note that the Parish Office and Coffee Shop will remain open as usual.
"Save the Date" – Saturday, 26 September 2026
A pilgrimage is being organised by the Liturgy Group for our Parish Partnership. The itinerary includes visits to Mellifont Abbey, the Monasterboice Monastic Site, and St Patrick’s Cathedral in Armagh for a guided tour and private Mass. Booking details and further information will be available in early September.
New Encyclical Letter from Pope Leo XIV
Pope Leo XIV has published his first encyclical letter, Magnifica Humanitas (The Grandeur of Humanity), issued on 25 May 2026. Copies of this major teaching letter are available in the Parish Shop in book form for €7.50 each.
Thanks to our parish shop volunteers, some copies are also available outside the shop with a dedicated honesty box for payment. Magnifica Humanitas can also be read in full online via the official website of the Holy See.
Climate Leadership Call to Action
Lorna Gold, Executive Director of the Laudato Si’ Movement, has highlighted a new initiative from a coalition of over 170 Christian organisations across the EU. The coalition has outlined four key asks for Irish and European governments, urging them to demonstrate true climate leadership and value care over competitiveness.
Their appeals include a fast and fair fossil fuel phase-out, a permanent windfall tax on the colossal profits of fossil fuel companies, and massive investment in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and electrification. Lorna Gold emphasised the urgency of these requests, pointing out that the current "worst-ever" heatwaves across the EU are a stark example of the real-time effects of climate change.
