BLESSING OF THE EASTER FOOD
The Blessing of Easter Food will take place at 11 am on the morning of Holy Saturday 4th April 2026 in the main Church. This wonderful tradition has its origins in the Slavic Countries. The food that is Blessed is the food that we have been abstaining from and fasting from during our Lenten observance. Households bring a small basket of food which would typically contain meat, a boiled egg, bread (home baked if possible) and may also include some pastries and treats. The food is consumed on Easter Day. At the Church we add a small crucifix to recall the Easter Event and a small Candle signifying the Light of Christ. Typically, the Service takes about fifteen minutes. All are very welcome to participate.
GOOD FRIDAY CHILDREN’S STATIONS OF THE CROSS AT 12 NOON.
Each year some of the children of the parish help us to celebrate the stations of the cross. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CELEBRATE. Practice details: Holy Thursday 2nd April 2p.m. – 4 p.m. in Main Church. For further information contact Elizabeth Gregan 087220955
MASS FOR PEACE. The Medjugorje Prayer Group invite you to a Mass for Peace in the Divine Master Chapel. On Thursday 26th March at 8p.m. Rosary at 7.30 p.m.
St. Vincent de Paul monthly collection will be held after all the Masses this weekend. Please give generously.
Laudato Si. This year is an intentional effort to weave our LSAP. Laudato Si Action Plan into the plight of the immigrants and the loss of our basic human and civil rights, into the consequences of climactic disruption of drought and heat and its effects on life’s ability to sustain itself, into the reckless decisions to destroy the planet herself in pursuit of more wealth for the already wealthy, into whatever other issues that meet us square in the face. And into how we still embrace Hope.
Pilgrimage to Medjugorje
