Summer Dues Collection 2025 from this weekend 21/ 22 June 2025

For parishioners - Our readings at Mass today focus, for Corpus Christi, on Priesthood and the Eucharist. The people following Jesus were tired and hungry (Luke 9:11-17). They needed nourishment and healing, at every level. ‘Give them something to eat yourselves’, Jesus says provocatively to the Twelve, but they were at a loss. They had very little, just five loaves and two fish. The miracle recounted is that from what little they had, Jesus made so much. The call to ministry and to participation in the Eucharist is central to the life and wellbeing of the Christian community. We are grateful for our priests and for the service they offer. From what each one has, they pass on all we have ‘received from the Lord’ (1 Corinthians 11:23), and bring his healing presence and love alive. Gathered around Christ, and through the gift of his Spirit, each parish and partnership of parishes is called to mission. Please support your priests through the Summer Dues appeal. The generosity that you have towards your priests is indispensable. Please play your part, too, in a renewed and active involvement of all parishioners as together we nourish and support each other, counting the wonderful blessings of God in our lives. from Archbishop’s Letter

Tax on donation scheme- The generosity that people show towards their priests is very reassuring. Your contributions can go further without any additional cost to you thanks to the tax relief available on charitable donations. With your help the parish can claim a tax refund from Revenue up to the value of 45% of your identifiable contributions amounting to €250 or more in any given year. Please use the envelope provided, giving your details so that the parish can contact you, to help process the tax rebate from Revenue. The parish can reclaim the tax no matter whether you are PAYE or Self-Assessed. This tax rebate from Revenue is now an important source of income for the parish.

Laudato Si Quotes on the Environment

When we ask ourselves what kind of world we want to leave behind, we think in the first place of its general direction, its meaning and its values. Unless we struggle with these deeper issues, I do not believe that our concern for ecology will produce significant results. “(Laudato Si, 160)”

Fire Protection System – Appeal for Funds

The Diocese has notified the parish that its current  Fire Protection System does not meet all the health and safety requirements. As a result, a new system must be installed at a cost of just over €50,000. Additionally, the company will charge an annual service charge of approximately €2,700 for maintenance. Currently, the parish does not have enough funds to cover this significant expense.

In addition to this there is a quotation of €13,000  approx. for church roof repair from the roofers Skyline Ltd. Therefore, any contributions to help the parish meet this necessary cost
