Bakers Pedestrian Right of Way

The right of way through Bakers to the church grounds has been a matter of discussion with the builder since the development commenced a few months ago.

During construction, the builder from a risk and security point of view intended to close off the right of way for the duration of the build. It was recognised by the builder and the parish that this would cause inconvenience to many parishioners who use this passageway daily. An alternative route through the old Garda Station has been investigated by the builder with DLR the owners of the Garda Station. While a route has been identified and is physically possible the builder’s request. In the meantime, the builder has cleaned up the right of way and cordoned it off for continued use on a temporary basis. As the development will cross over into the area of the right of way for services and other works, it will be closed off in time, possibly around the end of February ’26, or maybe sooner should issues arise.

Please be advised that the right of way as part of the planning permission will be reinstated on completion of the development, which is due to be completed September 2027.

The annual Mass in commemoration of those whose funerals were held at Holy Family Parish Church during the past year (from mid- October 2024 – 11 October 2025) will be at 10 .00 a.m. on Sunday 2nd November Holy Family Church. Families & friends of deceased especially welcome. Refreshments after Mass at Parish Resource Centre.

                                 Kill O’the Grange (Ourselves)

                                 Monkstown

At the Raising Hope for Climate Justice Conference, actor and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called Pope Leo XIV an “action hero for climate justice.”

Smiling, the Pope turned the attention away from himself and redirected it to the people

gathered before him:

“There is indeed an action hero with us — it is all of you, who are working together to

make a difference.”

And he ended with a challenge that still echoes today: “God will ask us if we have cultivated and cared for the world He created, and if we have taken care of our brothers and sisters. What will be our answer?”

Our answer begins with action.
